Chosen Track

After searching for and listening to various tracks, we (myself, Vinuir and Frankie)decided on this song; Jamelia - Numb. This is the BBC Live Lounge cover of the 2007 Linken Park track 'Numb'.



We were told that our chosen track had to be at least 10 years old if it was going to be an original; we found that there weren't as many songs from 10 years ago that we would realy like to use to make our music video. So we decided to look at cover songs from the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge; where artists cover released songs and make it there own, either changing some of the lyrics or changing the rhythm. Other songs i liked where Example - Tik Tok (cover of Ke$ha.)



With this song i really like the change of lyrics and the change in beat, the lyrics were a lot more comedic and the rhythm reminded me of a Run DMC song i like. But as a group we decided that the song we chose would have to be by a female artist as we already had someone in mind to act as the lead singer for us. Another few songs were Dizzee Rascals cover of 'Thats not my name' by the Ting Tings but again it was a male artist so wouldnt have been ideal for us.
