My Favourite Album Covers

MICHAEL JACKSON - THIS IS IT
One of my favourite album covers is Michael Jackson's - 'THIS IS IT' album.

The reason it is one of my favourites is not only because he is one of my favourite artists but because it takes one of Michael Jackson's most famous dance moves as the main outline, but it is filled with shots and moments from his rehearsals for what would have been his final tour; the THIS IS IT tour. I like the colour used from the shots as well as the lighting, especiallt the lighting at his feet which reminds us he was not just a singer but a performer aswell. The time when this album was released (October 27th) was very poignant as it was shortly after his death and the release of the film/documentry showing us his final few days rehearsing; making it very special for his fans. Also, in comparisions to some of MJ's other album covers i am more drawn to this one, because of its variety of colour; especially within the main picture.
GYM CLASS HEROES - AS CRUEL AS SCHOOL CHILDREN

This is another one of my favourite music albums and belongs to the Gym Class Heroes for there first album - 'As cruel as school children'

The reson i like it is because of the big bright colours used as well as the cover being comical. The visuals/picture, matches the title of the album 'As Cruel As School Children', where we see a group of pupils laughing at another. The facial expressions of the characters, allow us not to take the meaning of the picture to seriously and most importantly the way the designers have drawn and created all of the characters (especially the big blu character) makes me want to laugh. I also like the fonts used as they are a reflection of the band and its members with the graffiti like styles.
